Mobile Modular Met State Standards in Order for Elementary School to Start On Time

Background

Mount Vernon City School District was renovating Traphagen Elementary School which was not going to be completed in time for the start of the school year. We worked with the client to utilize an existing 2-classroom building to meet their needs. They did not need restrooms so we converted the existing restrooms into storage closets. The NY State Education Department has a requirement that younger students need to have a covered walkway to go from the main school to the modular classroom.

The Solution

Mobile Modular went with a prefabricated aluminum canopy that allowed the students to stay dry all day. After the modular classrooms were removed at the end of the school year, the district elected to keep the canopy in place so their students would stay dry while they waited for their bus in the bus loop.
